Daryl
no like I said a 66 Impala with a 2.81 ring gear for a 2 sp PG Trans to a 4 sp was a bit tricky to get off , but didn't wear clutch that much , so a 1800 lb- er can handle a 3.2 or even 3. and it's not about speeding as fast as you can , more about taking care of the engine , rather than over reving it relentlessly on a highway drive , clearly though no one here sees it or is interested in my wanting this manuf., thanks for the replys

Having been involved using CN manufacturers as suppliers for years, there is no way I would trust a product that was sourced off of Alibaba. Without first article inspections and factory supervision, odds on you will not get a suitable part.

I thought about this a long time ago, albeit by going to a different rear axle.
If I recall correctly, I figured you would need to modify the 5-speed transmission for the wider range gears, i.e. the 3.5 or 3.25 first gear. Daryl can tell you all about the costs and options LOL

I think a 3.5 rear axle with a 3.25 first is about the same overall, but I would prefer the 3.5 first for a little easier starting on a hill
