If you can identify this pile of rubble and rust you are a true Roaster slave! If you can then I have a couple of inquiries. 8)

Jack pot..ha..I managed to get it apart without damage to the 57 years old glass. The glass was delaminated at the edge at the bottom of the shield, but the lower frame section will actually cover it from view. The rest of the remainder edge is not bad. But my concern is that the piece of hardened delamination that I was pretty much able to remove (about the width of the lover frame or a bit less ) left a void between the 2 piece of glass. Do you think that might be an issue as far as strength and holding moisture? I thought might be able to inject something back in to avoid future deteration. Overall the glass is pretty good. But was hoping to find someone with info on best way to approach. The lower frame piece is solid but big pitting on the inside edge of the chrome on some on the exterior side. Any experience with trying to re-chroming the surround frame also.

I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to that. As far as rechroming, a local guy used Space Coast Chrome and was pleased, although he said that it was expensive. I have heard of a few chrome platers, but have not used any to give a recommendation. I'm sure that others have more information.
