Got a call from a guy who's closing down an auto shop in a town a couple hours away... has some Datsun/Nissan service manuals to get rid of.

I'm involved with the local Z Car Club and know lots of Datsun/Nissan folk, so I drive out to see what he has. Turns out the shop was the 2nd Datsun dealership set up here in Alberta, Canada the late 1960's. So after chatting for an hour or so, we go check out his stock of service manuals:

Over 100 manuals from the 1960's to 1989 covering pretty much every Datsun/Nissan product.

All the Z car manuals:
510? Check!
But the best stuff was the 1960's pile:

A 2000 body manual, U20 engine & 5 speed manual and a 1963 Datsun Sports parts catalog!
Also got a cool old weatherbeaten sign:
Not bad for a few bucks and an afternoon drive.

Let's just say the Frontier rode nice and smooth on the way back home with a metric ton of manuals onboard.

I'm not sure of the copy rite laws up north, but you just might be the "source" for all things Datsun/Nissan.

Ha, I mentioned your find on another forum and they are already talking about taking up donations to have them digitized. I think they are only half kidding.

I find I prefer a paper copy when working on a car, and these were just going to get tossed if nobody picked them up.

Yeah, I use nicoclub all the time but there are some in your pile that are probably hard to come by, like the early 200SX’s and so many others.

Haha! It’s more of a generic forum but there is some car talk and a few are into Datsuns and other early imports.
