Hello , I'm a new member to the forum from the east cost, but have read a whole lot of the fourms helpful post.
I have had my 68 roadster for 44 years and just acquired a 67 and more than likely a 66parts car. I am doing complete frame off restorations, one in the direction or a normal restoration and the other into a vintage racing car probably in the direction of a BRC styling/tribute. My son and I will race the 68 in various racing events and hopefully some vintage races.
I have been around racing and building cars a great deal of my life , but have been away from it for 20years now. I'm not connected in the industry anymore but still have a friend from way back Bill Harvey from Florida. He was instrumental in helping build the 68 the first time for SSCA solo. Bill and his brother Elliott are quite the legends in there class of solo racing. He has helped once again revive my love for my .roadsters. I have built a lot of various racing cars in my life but have not been able to approach the racing aspect near enough. Hence one of the reasons I moved to Charlotte NC. Some nice tracks in close proximity and my interest in the forum. Sorry long winded but haven't been this excited in a while. Thanks Andrew

Welcome Andrew. Cole Hastings is near you, so he may be a resource. Bill Harvey is a great guy - I stop to visit him whenever work travels take me nearby and I can. Welcome to the fray!

I'm impressed with the site, it's set up well. I'm being completely honest when I say I will have lots of questions and will try to be helpful if I can.
I have a question at current to do with the frame as I'm doing rust repair, well needed , quite a bit of metal work, and building a cage.
My question is has any one run into the cross tube for the shocks being out of square with the frame. My measurement of trangulation on the frame only shows a 1/6 inch out. But the rear shock suspension bar is out 7/16 measuring from rear forward or front to rear, left side versus right. I can't come up with a reason except production error. I'm reengineering the rear suspension a bit for racing but will not remove anything..just add. Has anyone ever come across this?

Hi Andrew,
I race a roadster in vintage events on the east coast. Please feel free to ask specific questions. Keep in mind the regulations for the various sanctioning bodies for the specific classes as you make modifications to your car.
