Hey gang, I know we don't have a non-car related category anymore, but I just wanted to send positive thoughts to those members dealing with the weather related issues in California. As large and widespread as our family is, there's no doubt that someone on this list is being impacted directly or indirectly. I'm afraid that all I can do at this moment is to send you best wishes, with the sincere hope that all turns out well.

Thanks for the positive vibes and good wishes, Greg. You are a good dude. Other than my neighbor's fence coming down, and not being able to drive the roadster, I've been lucky with these storms. There are many people who haven't been, though.

Regarding our community here near the Central Coast, we have had some pretty good flooding in the rivers and creeks, lakes are filling up fast. Bad news is one family lost their 5yr old son, fear is that he may have gotten washed away? There still searching for him.

That’s horrible! We’ve been watching the news up here and it seems California is getting its last twenty year rain shortfall all in one season.

Yes, this is indeed an anomaly. News reports say at least 19 people have tragically died and damage is estimated at around $1 billion.

Native Southern Californian here, and old enough to remember living through Jan-Feb 1969. Lowlands Southern California received 20-30 inches of rain in those two months. The local mountains 40+ inches. So sad about the loss of life this time around. Nature of the beast living in a mostly irrigated Scrubland / Desert. We are overdue for a big shaker as well.
