REAR Leaf spring bushings replacement

I've spent considerable time searching the Forum and Tech WIKI, to find a procedure that simplifies replacing the 8 rubber bushings located at the REAR of the leaf springs and brackets, but I haven't found any. I'm sure I can figure it out, ...jack up car, place on stands, and go from there, etc., but I would like to know the simplest method if anyone has knowledge of this.
All suggestions, ideas, and opinions are welcome.
Thanks in Advance,
Mike

What you describe is what I did. They did take considerable effort to yank out since they had been in there for so long. I used white lithium grease when putting in the new ones.
Cheers,
Joseph

Yes, those are the rubber bushings I ordered from Dean....I'm hoping to avoid any work that isn't necessary, such as completely removing the complete axle housing, disconnecting U-bolts, etc....something like : do I just need to disconnect the rear bracket on one side at a time, both sides, to lower the axle housing....that kind of thing...the wrenching & disconnection of parts sequence ? ?

The rear bushings should come out fairly easily. The fronts are another matter altogether. I think I used a box cutter and removed the outside of one side and then just pushed everything through. The replacements were two piece and went in with ease with a little grease.

Yeah, I get the idea of removing and inserting the rubber bushings themselves....The 2 bolts penetrating the rubber bushings in each bracket are welded to a steel strap, and so this welded assembly has to be pulled out of it's bushings as a unit, but the extraction is interfered with by the trunk / fender wells on both sides, so..., that end of the spring either needs to be lowered, or the scrolled bracket needs to have the 3 bolts to the frame removed to lower that end of the leaf spring...I'm just wanting to know if there is an easier way to accomplish this without having to disconnect or unbolt things like shocks, U-bolts, or other things that I don't need to....
I'm thinking that I probably need to remove the bottom nuts on the rear shocks, and the bolts to drop the front end of the leafs, so that the whole axle can "swivel" the welded bolt bracket out of the way of the trunk / fender wells....what have other people done ?

I had the u-bolts off and the springs completely dropped.

No, not the urethane. These are proprietary molds I own.

The kit I bought from Dean has 8 bushings, all the same and all of them are single piece, none were two piece. Did you buy OEM? Dean's are harder than OEM and urethane. Just a little confused as I'm about to tear into this. Update I didn't know what I was ordering. I thought they meant for spacers between the springs. And with that said what does go between the springs, some kind of flat piece. looks like leather but that's probably because of the age.
