Not recommended. I had to pull the engine out twice as after the first rebuilt it smoked worst than when I brought it in. He discovered it was a bad /defective valve guide. Tomas used them and he ended up replacing the block. Good Luck with your search but the good shops are out there, just need to find one.

I had a head done by

All Car Parts (on Vanowen in SFV) 818 884 7111

I haven't mounted it yet, but it certainly looks well done.

They have done quite a few heads/engines over the years for Roadsters

I anyone has any conflicting comments - please add them

Took my U20 Head to Metric Engines in N. Hollywood for Valve guide R/R and resurfacing. 5 years and no problems. This guy literally took it out my hands and instructed a mechanic to get on it right away. Older guy Armek that’s been running this shop forever. Later following year took a Volvo head in (Later model) and no issues either. Quick but done right! 5722 Tujunga ave, N. Hollywood
