Another Hardtop question

Post by roadsterfan »

Hey Guys,
I just got a hardtop for my 70 1600 and I need to know how it fastens on the sides. The top latches work fine but I don't know what need to fasten the sides down. Anyone got pics to show what it should look like on the inside.

My top bolts down with two eye bolts right behind the doors. I don't know if that is normal ??? I would take a picture for you, but everything is masked off for paint.

This may not make any sense, but the one I just sent to Evan had an eyebolt, loop down, that went over the top pivot behind the door and was retained by a washer and acorn nut. The threaded portion faced up and went into an L bracket on the hardtop and was secured with a nut and washer. There was also some hardware in the round hole in the cowl trim, but I didn't have it all.

Thanks guys, now I know what I need. I probably
won't use the hardtop much but now knowing how
to secure it properly is important.
