Hope you're kidding on the cow to car collision! When I was in college at WSU, some guys in a 240z hit a horse which took the top off the car, and they couldn't duck down because they were in racing harnesses...

Texas drivers should be aware (most are likely not) that it is an "open range" state, making the odds of collecting damages extremely difficult in most cases involving cattle on roadways. Yes, there are exceptions -- and a sufficient number of attorneys -- to sort out the details of each case.
