rechroming low windshield vents - howto remove latch striker?er

I am getting a batch of parts ready to go in for rechroming. Hve glass & frame out. Pb Blast on pins retaining broken vent latches. Underthe latch on the frame there is a plate over the vent frame for the latch to ride on (striker?) How do you remove that for chroming? And how do you re-install? Thanks for the advice!

My strike plates have been in a baggie for the last 40 years, but I put them back on the frame a few months back. Strictly a press on fit, you may have some corrosion / gunk underneath the plate. Soak / lubricate the strike plate. In my case I can slide the plate up to the top of the frame where it seems to be a slight smaller dimension and I can easily just flick the plate off with a flat head screw driver.

I believe the plate is stainless. I bought new stainless handles from sin city, much stronger and come with new pins.
