Why not? You could tow a trailer to events. A couple of guys do that. Mike Jennings does IIRC. A receiver hitch would allow you to put a bike rack on the car.

Yep, my wife and I pulled our Wetbike (painted matching 665 yellow, with water skis mounted on its trailer) to many lakes in the 80s. With a Draw-Tite on the back of a 2000, the cliche "you hardly know it's there" applied even at freeway speeds.

A college kid with a 67 1600 that I went to school with had a hitch and towed a catamaran. That thing was HUGE compared to the Roadster, it was comical!

For a second I thought you might be talking about an old friend I had in CA 30+ yes ago, Bill Beauber (instrumental in the creation of the EI dizzy), who used to pull his sail boat with his '67 1600. I have considered one for pulling a tear drop camper.

This was the other side of the US in Daytona Beach, Florida. I would love to have a teardrop to tow with a Roadster!

Even my 16 Ft. long by 8 ft. wide Hobie 16, with a 26 foot mast, looks huge compared to the Roadster....I've always wanted to rest the trailer coupler on the rear bumper for a picture, but I still haven' t ever got around to it...

It doesn't stand out to me because I recognize it from the Rallye catalog...

Lol … Good eye! Considering how small the original picture is

I’ve never seen one in that shape before still on the road (as the picture would suggest) … a bit of levity with a “Sins of the PO’s†addition.

Pulled from one to three motocross bikes with mine almost every weekend with mine in the early 70’s. Still have the hitch and bumper in my attic.

And I always wondered what Dann knew of the obviously painful history of that car.
