Annoying kijiji reality check …

Post by Bwk2000 »

Really need to start refining my searches more - Don’t need that kind of reminder in my life 🤨
Going back to the garage to finish the tune-up on my ‘Sports’ car now …

Lol … No … More like I don’t recall a forklift and any ‘Sports’ car I’ve ever owned sharing a similar engine before.
Never had that problem with any of my old cars over the years: Nova SS, Camaro, Cuda, Corvette, Merc, Z4M, etc, etc … Go figure 🤔

The ad just reminded me of that annoying fact as I was in the middle of tuning up the old girl.

Ha ha ha! My friend Bill takes great pride in telling non-Roadster people that the car has a fork lift motor in it, after he has raced past them at Speed! He has an H20 with an R head. Hey, Seabuiscut was a short horse with little legs that nobody respected, yet he had a heart that was bigger than most (both physically and spiritually) and those little legs moved like lightening (ever watched actual footage? Amazing!).

I think that sums up the Datsun... little legs, big heart!

Hmmm 🤔
What does yours have in it again Greg? Oh ya … A much bigger heart and longer legs.
You haven’t driven a (mostly) stock R16 in a while I bet 😂

Ya, that's true... Seabuiscut on steroids... but, as has been seen, the R can be developed. A little head work, nice matching cam, a set of Webers... could pick up 20hp. A friend of mine had nitrous on his R16 with Webers... that surprised a few folks!

And think about this... all the muscle cars get what 10, 12 MPG? The Datsun probably gets at least 25 MPG, which on a twisty road makes more SPG (smiles per gallon) than the thirsty beasts! I watch these high powered car shows with these huge blown motors and think "Ya, drive that up to Mt. Rainier... not!" I'm getting 27mpg now with the EFI, and it's not tuned for economy.

Get her up in the mountains and let her shine!
