Hi all,

I ended up taking apart my front end about two months ago to upgrade the shot shocks, rubber, and whatever else I felt like taking apart. I was going back and forth between some comp springs and some off the shelf shocks. All the rubber was shot and needed to be replaced badly!

After some discussions with a couple members here I went with the MY springs and Bilstein combo from JT, and the 23mm comp sway bar. Replaced all the boots, cleaned and re-greased every point, and had all the parts powder coated too.

I just got back from my first drive and all I can say is holy crap that was amazing!! Went over all the usual bumps and around the corners, but this time it felt like I was on RAILS! Bumps are nothing now, and the car handles so much better. It's like night and day.

If anyone is teetering on this setup, It's pretty amazing. Granted I came from a completely stock and dead suspension before hand.

I might suggest you renovate the steering box and idler box to ensure that they are fresh too
My '65 had awful wear in both units and I had them restored to factory fresh by a Transmission Workshop near me.
It must have been horrible to drive beforehand

36+ year owner on Comp springs and every shock available, and I know what the Bs can do. Glad you are happy with all your work... that's a satisfying feeling eh!

An aggressive front end and a fresh alignment really do make an amazing handling difference.

Looks like next on the list are the steering box and idler. I thought about doing those too since I had everything out, but it's a slippery slope and I needed an end to this project versus it growing!

Wheels, tires, and the alignment are also on the list. This project went much longer and was significantly more than I expected, so I'm driving til winter and then will get the next stuff done.
