Is it possible that a later model 1969 car was built on a 1970 body? This 1969 vin# srl311 10597 has square side markers front and rear along with 2 stacked tail lights and reflector next to bottom tail light just like my 70 car.
Vin # on windshield says its a 69. Very odd??
Thx in advance with any comments.

That VIN seems to be mid-range for a '69. Ralley's website says '69's had 07001-13000

Welcome. It’s very common for the year sold to not match the year manufactured back then. The rectangular side lights, big round reflectors, writing/symbols on the knobs, chrome front light trim, etc, can/were simply put on (or removed) from a ‘69 and sold as a ‘70 (Same situation for me).
This offers a good explanation:

Thx, Bwk2000. I was very puzzled! I have a 70 and this 69 has all the same body character as my 70 but vin says 69. Good to know its not a Frankenstein.

Could be a body swap. Does the frame number match the vin number on the dash. As Geoff said definitely a 69 vin. I put no faith in the cowl mounted vin plate, repos are readily available and since they are screwed on instead of being riveted on they are easy to swap and can be stamped with any numbers you want.
