Anyone tear apart a Waso style ignition switch before? I found 1 ball bearing inside. Should there be 3? Maybe 2 of them sprouted wings when I took it apart! Does anyone have one they would like to sell?

Gar, I’m not familiar with the guts of that particular switch but from your photo it appears that there should be only one ball. The copper plate has contacts raised to hit the switch contacts @ there is usually a ball with a spring to form detents for the key locations. There should also be a spring to rotate the switch out of the start position.
Having said that, where do you think the 3 balls would be located, quite possible I’m missing something.
Peace,
Pat

Thanks Pat....take a look at the smaller round black disc. See the 3 springs in there? Those springs aid in the "detent" action that you mentioned, but I just can't figure out where the bearing goes. The spring that rotates the key slightly back from the start position is in the tumbler mechanism. So in this pic, that copper round disc is turned upside down, and rests inside the round black piece with all the copper contacts, then the round black disc with the springs is turned upside down and inserted on top of the copper disc. The entire assembly is then inserted into that cut-up aluminum housing, and that is then dropped into the back side of the ignition assembly.

Is there a hole on the edge (rim) of the smaller black piece. Is there a hole there possibly with a spring that the ball might go into?
