How do you retract the front brakes to install new...

I under stand the first response is to remove the front calipers and replace them with...

But how do you retract the front brake cylinders to install new pads? Your collective help would be appreciated.

If you can’t just pry them back you could use a C-clamp to compress the piston. Make sure there is room in your master cylinder to allow the fluid to back flow without running over.

If the Pistons are tight in the cyls they won't push back
Then you need to fix that before putting on pads.
you can open the bleeder, a large pair of channel lock plyers usually works or a screwdriver gently prying it between the rotor

Use a disc brake pad spreader tool.

The carnage of removing the first pad, is complete. Cleaning to road grime accumulation on the caliper, continues.

To be clear, new pads are on hand. Fresh brake fluid is in the system. Question, where does all the green brake fluid you see on youtube come from?

Where is the You tube vid? You want to expell and catch brake fluid out of the bleeder when pushing the pistons back into the cylinders, because you REALLY want to look at it carefully.
