Mystery holes

Cleaning up engine bay while engine is out. Wondering what these two holes in front of the motor mounts on each side are for. Looks like they’re threaded but not sure what would go there.Don’t remember anything from when the engine was pulled but that’s been awhile.

Those holes are not used in the roadster application-- I suspect they are left overs from when this frame was used in the truck application.

Much of the front section is not used for the roadster. Aside from the idler box and the steering boxes mounted to the front section, that whole front section could have been remove and the very front beam that the front bumper is connected should have been build up to carry the torsion load. That would also lighten up the front end of the car.
