Seeking Thread Size for Temp Sending Location Port on R16

Post by SP3 »

On an R16, assuming SAE version as other internals have been confirmed as SAE on this motor, can anyone provide what the thread pitch is for the port that the Temp Gauge sending unit assy threads into? This would be once everything is removed and just the hole in the head is left.

What is that thread size?

Seeking to make or buy over the counter brass fitting to mate 1/2" NPT to thread into the head.

Thanks

I don’t know the thread but I recall that is a straight thread that bottoms out in the bevel-bottomed hole to seal the sensor against the head.

I have a new sender & nut but they are metric.

Mine was m16x 1.5 on my 1969 1600. Glowshift has an adapter.
