Yesterday's project. Rebuilt the rear wheel cylinders. Working on the front assemblies, just need to order a few more parts. Also, I discovered I had 3 outside caliper assemblies and 1 inside assembly. I think I've sourced a replacement locally. Keeping it going.

Re: '67.5 SPL311 1600 Roadster Restoration: Let the fun begin!
Well, the internet truly is a dangerous place. I was simply looking for an inside brake piston housing and down the rabbit hole I went. I found a late Roadster owner's stash locally and as soon as I saw the pictures I had to jump in the car. My build suddenly took a sharp turn. For the better. I picked up a U20 (#12548), two R16's (#73228 and #26667), two 4-speed transmissions, 1500 rear axle assembly, 5-speed driveshafts, two later models doors with glass and quarter windows, half a dozen flywheels, hubs, brake rotors, two radiators, spare U20 head, two exhaust manifolds, pressure plates, brake drums, later wiring harness (looks complete), nice radio, water pumps, starters, alternator, R16 SU carbs, some new OEM parts, and a bunch of used parts. Now I REALLY didn't need any of this, but the seller made the condition that I take it ALL away. So, it looks like I'll be building up the U20 for my car and start the search for a 5-speed transmission for good measure. BONUS! Everything, except the U20, is up for sale. I don't have any room to store this stuff and still be able to work on the car. I was told by the previous owner's nephews that the engines were removed from running cars, they spin, are complete, and appear to have been in decent condition. (Of course, I smashed all the distributor caps when I stuffed all this in the back of my wife's Telluride. Luckily the sellers had a forklift on hand to load it up into the back of the SUV. I was tail-dragging all the way home, running 50 mph in the right lane on the interstate.) If anyone sees anything they may need, make an offer and send me a PM. Jeff

Well I see a partially cut up Solex U-20 water pipe just to the right of the sink strainer.

I feel your pain Jeff. Truth is, there are inadequate internet safeguards in place to protect the vulnerable. We are all likely to be victimized, sooner or later, by the plethora of random ‘car parts deals’ that insidiously lurk behind a few rash, but well intentioned, computer key strokes. Will no one think of the classic car owner?
BTW - Did you find your inside brake piston housing?

I'm just very excited for you to have a U20 to put in your car!!! I'm hoping that makes the whole buy worthwhile.
And... if it's a half-year sink strainer, I'll take it!
