I am for the first time using this forum to try an solve a problem that I have encounterd.
I participate in Historic Racing in Australia since 2004.
Last year was the first time i had a rear return spring has break and now a further three breakages have occourd.
there appears no pattern as is not always the same one nor on the same side:
Once the adjuster side on the Driver side,
Once the cylinder side on the Driver side
Twice the adjusted side on the passenger side of the car.
Has anyone expirienced this fatigue problem on racecars?
I have not expirienced it on my road car.
I am looking for a solution as I am ehasuting the spare springs I have obtained over the years.
Are alternative springs available and if so where can I optain those?

Hi André. You didn’t mention if you had any brake upgrade/swap configurations or just running stock?
At any rate, there were different size springs used throughout the production run. Any chance you maybe have the shorter ones causing too much strain under repetitive hard braking? Guess this could also be a problem with any custom brake swaps as well.

Also, you may be able to source stock replacements here:

It never ceases to amaze me, all the slight differences on parts that seem the same.

Or the wealth of knowledge we bring together with this family... awesome!
Unfortunately (?) have rear discs now so no experience with this.
