Next big job is to replace the full wiring harness. While I'm at it, is there anything else I should add to the list/items I should check? Already on it are LED lights, third brake light for roll bar, and a few other items.

When I rewired my 67.5 I:

Added electronics to give me 4 stop & turn lights like the 70 cars.

Added provision to have the headlights turn off when the key is turned off.

Added provision to have the driving lights only come on when the high beams are on.

Added provision for the radio to be either on all the time or on the key.

Speaker wires.

Replaced ammeter with voltmeter

I also moved the headlight & horn relays, along with the fuse block to be under the dash. Split the circuits to have more fuses & relays to take some load off the switches.

I considered:
Wiring for seat heaters. (Not really needed in Texas)

Wiring for trunk mounted radio power amplifier. (Enough room under dash)

Speaker wires for future Miata headrest speakers. (Not likely)

Door, hood & trunk switches for alarm & interior lights.

Cruise control.

Curtis should be able to tell other features others have requested or considered.

Oh, one other thing I did was combine all the harnesses into one, from headlight to tail light & everything in between. For the most part online connectors are to ease construction at the factory.

If your alternator is on the left you might want to move it to the right.

I'll probably delete the OBDII port or hide it really well since it makes car theft easier

Hey Ralph,
I'm curious about some details on your third brake light... did you have to rewire the harness?

Or can you 'just' splice wires into the brake switch?

Did you use an LED light?

The harness was built by Curtis and I will be installing it in about 3 weeks….so I can’t help with the “splicing it in” question yet

I will probably go with an LED for the roll bar
