Not stock. 1970 back from the dead. Will have a lot of custom parts.

I am a custom car builder. I do a lot of sheet metal work. And custom design work. I will be making a lot of modifications on the rodster . The goal is a fun driver.
A little about the car. It has been sitting since the 90s. The guy I got it from said "no rust" if only you knew how many times I hear that . So it definitely has rust. And a lot of other issues . This is when I picked it up.

This is when I picked it up. I should have taken a picture of the interior. Was a mess. But cleaned it out fast because the animals made a mess.

Tossed on some volk racing wheels i had and switched out the hardtop to the no side window design. The fender mirror was just something I was thinking about. But have a different ideal now.

First thing I wanted to get sorted was the floor
I am not a fan of the floor design. With the plates over the sheet metal. Just a place to rust out. So I designed some panels that I believe will do better.
I designed it out of 18 gauge. Raised the section for the seat mounts instead of plates. Will be plenty stong.

It's rust Free!
The checks in the Mail!
The repair tech will be on time!
Etc etc etc...
Love the look of Webers on an R motor. Wish I could crank out my own sheet metal Parts! Looking forward to the process.

Did you purposely pay for rust? If not, then the rust is free

Yeah rust ain't so bad. I have seen way worse.
Got some interior work done. Nothing to fancy. I sewed it up my self.

Next was the water neck. Had the same issues most have. Could not get off the stock unit. So I used a 240z water neck. But I also made a aluminum spacer . For better hose fitment.

Had some vintage paddy Hopkirk seats i wanted to use. So I upholstered them myself. I am no expert. But I have had issues with dealing with upholster guys . So learning myself. Turned out pretty good.

Thanks guys, these are my 3rd set of seats. So still getting there. I am more of a metal shaper. But I like to learn new skills. Or Maybe just because I am cheap haha

Not sure if I am going to do bolt on flares or make custom metal flares with a less aggressive flare. Any input?

Just a test fit. Volk racing 15x8 negative 15 all around. . The rears are perfect. Front not so much . I have some other lips I think I can make it perfect. And of course still need to lower the front.

Wanted to do some work on the lathe. So I made a shift knob. Was trying to get the right shape and weight. I think it turned out pretty good. Has a nice feel.
