Hello,
Just a quick introduction and some pics of my 1968 Roadster project. Car is mounted on a custom chassis with Strange Ford 9” rear axle, Wilwood calipers/5 lug/Forged spindles, Aldan coilovers, Mustang II steering rack and 4-link. Will have a fully built KA24DET with BC forged crank and billet pistons, Quaife 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, Electric power steering, Motec C127 color display/15 button keypad, ECUmasters PMU, Haltech ECU, and full custom motorsport wiring harness. Will also have custom sheet metal work done to floors, firewall, trans tunnel, and custom carbon fiber aero. Wheels will be 16x9.5 (rear) and 16x8.5 (front) RS Watanabe R type wheels with TOYO TQ 275 45 16 (rear) and 255 50 16 (front). Hope you all enjoy the build progress. I’m on IG @dceptvz
Cheers,
John

Digging right in and getting it done eh! I like that you're keeping the power plant in the Nissan family. Have you done others? (Seems likely!) Are you going to keep the stock tail lights? I'd like to see how that looks! Have fun!

Yeah I have a series 1 240Z and a 521 truck that has some pretty extensive fabrication. Tail lights will retain their stock position but housings are going to be redone billet with LED’s.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with on the Roadster! Feel free to post a few pics of the others as well! I recall the build of a Roadster that did custom tail lights and ran a 4.6 liter V6 but I haven't seen it in years.

Given your wheel and tire combination, how will you be treating the fenders?

You made it to 311s John! Great to see you here!

For those not familiar, this is the chassis that debuted at Solvang (built by Crow).

Excited to see John's fabrication and design...hoping he can tool up some sheetmetal for our cars :D

A 9" rear is overkill, so it shouldn't ever have an issue! Welcome!

This will be interesting to watch. Not much original Roadster left, but the spirit is certainly there. Subscribed.

Replies to previous questions: The fenders are going to get custom fender flares to accommodate the larger wheels/tires. Yes the 9” rear end will be more than enough. Power goals will be 500+ HP / 400+ torque.

This is going to be fun watching your car come together. Heads up, the sheet metal the firewall is not very thick. Might flex a bit under application of the brakes.
