Does anyone know if Zeus is still working on a caliper for the roadster? I emailed them about three months ago and never heard back...

Last time I talked to them they were locked down by covid and couldn't go out to where the car was to test them. Perhaps I should give them a call.

Seems like they would be a good alternative. They look good.

I called Zeus this morning and talked to them. The covid hit them hard and they've had some supply problems especially with steel. The calipers are 90% done and are in aluminum. However, the car they were going to do the final test on has been sold and roadsters are very rare there.

They had just pulled them out to look at them a couple days ago. They will be doing a run of Jaguar calipers and will do a couple sets for testing by me and Mikeb. So there you have it. Once I get them I'll do some distance stop tests with stock and then see how the Zeus do. Have to find a place I can do it. I'm not in a position to test them for fade. Time to get out the measuring wheel.

If they are Dunlop cylinders, they will work. The only issue may be the flares on the cross over tubes.

Ok, I was thinking the individual cylinders. You are talking a complete caliper. I looked at their site and didn't see them last time (months ago). Very nice and should be much lighter. I like it!

They are the Jaguar XKE calipers redesigned to fit a roadster. This all started because I called them and tried to order a set to try on the car and see if they would fit. I opened my mouth and told them what I was doing and they said no you can't do that because of safety. From there they decided to design a set for the Datsun. I just wanted to see if they would mount up and clear the stock wheel. I planned to sell them if they didn't.

Based on what someone else did with the what I believe was the Wildwood Jag calipers they would have fit a 15" wheel. Given that the stock Jag caliper is no bigger than the Datsun one it may have even fit the 14" wheel. That would have depended on whether they had increased the outside dimension of the new caliper holder.

Here is the Jag and Datsun stock ones.

Wow. I knew the Jags shared the same caliper (on one side) but have not seen how small the Jaguar XKE caliper's outer shell was.
