Hello everyone! I just bought my first sp311 1967
It is kinda ruff but body looks really straight, engine is original block. It has side draft webers . And a hard top. I only paid 1000
For it. Was that a good deal. Don’t know if it will run yet. Long story about the owner. I hope to fix it up. I have had 4 510’s and three 720’s in my youth. I’m excited just hope I can get her going

Welcome, post pictures so we can better evaluate, but sight unseen it sure seems like a solid deal!

Welcome to the Roadster family... tons of support here with no flaming. My second car was a '73 620... learned everything mechanical on that rig (cams, head mods, SU carbs, MSD ignition systems, lowering, 200sx transmission swap), loved it and wish I still had it. Sold it when I finished the Roadster (my third car) and headed to So Cal for school and wish I never did. LOVED that truck. It was the opposite color scheme of my Roadster, desert gold with a really cool black canopy and black accents. The back was done up for camping and I would put my canoe on top and drive all over WA state as a teenager going fishing... good times.

Well, I haven't had a lot of time to work on my roadster yet, but I just put a battery in her and it turns over! The engine it not frozen as I had feared.
I did not expect it to start, and it didn't. After I turned it by hand, I put the battery in it, and she turned over! I'm very excited. I heard the electric pump working so I only turned it for a second. Now it will be time to start taking it apart! Rebuild the carbs, compression check, all new fluids. rebuild the clutch hydraulics and the brake hydraulics too. The list it just getting started. Ever since I picked this up I'm in love. I really want to do a lot with this. I really looking forward to rebuilding and tuning the carbs. I need to empty the old gas from tank. Etc Etc. I hope I can find my airflow meter. I have one but haven't used it . I sold my old 911 that had Weber's on it too. Excuse me I have never joined a forum before and I don't need to ramble so much. I guess its just hard to contain myself.
Even though its rough I know I can make her like new. Electrical as hacked gauges were hacked, Ignition switch is hang from column with zip ties, it appears to be stock replacement former owners didn't know you had to drill out the bolts I guess. the steering wheel turns so the lock on the columns busted , unless the original does not have a column lock?
If anyone reads this I really need new door stops there both broken . anyone know were I can find new ones?
I have learned it is a 1967.5 model
I will post pictures soon, is this the right forum?
Thanks in advance for any help I can get, I imagine I will have a ton of questions and may need some encouragement along the way.
I live in Everett Washington

This is definitely the right forum! Check out the Vendor list link at the top of the page for an invaluable resource of parts vendors.

I have started to cruise through the vendor list. It is awesome. I have sold parts for 39 years as a parts store manager. My company can get a lot of parts, My store alone carries over 56000 parts but not most of these hard-to-find resto parts. I'm excited! My last project was a 1971 Porsche 911s Targa
I had a real fun time with that one. sold it in 2014 wish I never had, but I haven't had a project since then. I wish I had some of my 510s I have had too.
When I found this Roadster I thought I would buy this if it ran or not. Since my purchase I have already learned a lot about the car and realized how good of a deal I got. At first I thought quick flip but I think now I'm in for a journey with this one. I have always admired the roadsters never thought I would own one! again I am totally Stoked!

Sounds like you are hooked on the roadster. That's great! I'm glad you've bonded and you're going to keep it. If there are any roadster owners near you, maybe you can get a ride in one so you'll know what you're working towards - then you will really be hooked.
