Curtis's Early Drop-In Blower Motor

Post by 23yrRebuild »

I didn't want to hijack the 67 Wiper Motor thread, to which Curtis had replied in regards to the 67 Wiper Motor,
Curtis wrote: Thu Feb 03, 2022 8:12 pm Yes, the blower motor is a drop in,
So I'll ask this of Curtis, in this new post:
Curtis, can you give us more information on a "drop-in" alternative for the early blower motor?

I'm currently going through all of the heater, defrost, and fresh air components, and would be interested to know more about a better, and stronger blower motor.
Thanks,
Mike

The later blower motor will screw right in. It has three speeds in the high car with a 3 position switch.

The resistor for the low and medium speed is different in the high having 3 terminals. Low has two terminals since it is just two speeds using the toggle switch. I have the low speed and high speed in my car. As I recall the low speed is just a little faster with the high motor. The high speed delivers much more heat than the stock low motor. I think the only change may gave been the power connection terminal but don't remember.

Low resistor.
