roadster tires

Post by GaryG »

Suretrac makes a 170/70R14 with a 5/8" whitewall......has anyone tried them? What are the most popular tires to use on a stock Roadster wheel?

Yes, 175/70R14!

I believe you meant 175, not 170mm width? Remington makes a white wall as well in that (175) size, probably a bit cheaper and a more reputable brand IMO.

Curtis did you buy later 4.5 inch OEM wheels, or were those Remingtons on the orig. 4" wheels?

4.5". I also have some OEM 5" 240Z wheels from 1971 that were taken off the car the day after he bought it. The guy still owns the car. Would like someone who is restoring a car to buy them. I guess they can go for a high price.

i would put in the conversation the Pirelli CN36 they make a 185/70/14. when i got my 66 project it came with what looked like the cn36 but were hard and cracking. I have a friend thats into porsches and he likes the cn36 to be period correct and to get good performance out of his car

I had 185 on AR 5.5 or 6" libre wheels and found them a little wide. I like the 175 and I'm mostly just cruising with a bit of aggressive driving.

The first two years 240Z Hubcaps can go $500 ea. in nice shape. I have some 1972 through 75 Z Hubcaps on my Roadster. Not sure by way of the original Owner or my Sister who bought it from him in 1975 or so. Hopefully they clean up so I can turn them to pay for original Roadster Caps.
