Weight management
Hey guys,
Just wondering, anyone want to weigh in(no pun intended) on how heavy or how much their cars weigh. I have mine down to 1836 lbs without driver.
I'd like to hear some numbers for comparison.
Thanks
Russell

Alvin,
I think I have something on the stock weights, the reason I was wondering took out the old TI calculator and came up with( now this is only on a 1600) for every 19 lbs I remove I get one useable hp.
weights are as follows
spl-310 2030
spl-311 2085
srl-311 2110
I was like I said weighing in at 1913 now the car is at 1836 so approxiamately 249 pounds lighter. Not trying to be lame, just looking for numbers for comparison
Cheers,
Russell

Michael,
Can you start a thread about the 300ZX brakes? Have you tried to convert any 5 lug hubs to fit a Roadster?
On the weight, Andy Cost has a seriously lightened Roadster. Mine are all stock and I am a chubby guy, so a lightweight roadster is wasted on me...

Alvin,
Basically the whole interior was gutted, rollbar added aprox 100lbs, Kirkey intermediate drag seat 14 pounds, fuel tank replaced with fuel cell, all supports and sound proofing taken off hood, trunk, and doors(the hood alone had a pound and a half of sound proofing. The hood latch was remove that damn thing weighed a pound. nothing done to the firewalls or inner fenders, thats where Andy Cost saved a great deal of weight he cut his out, can do it for autocross can't for racing.
I haven't done anything to the frame because that is the one thing on a Datsun that 1. adds the most weight but 2. adds the most strucyural rigidity. Our frames make an MG or Healy Sprite look like flexiflyers.
I can't wait to put this thing on the track also I am running neg 1.5 degrees of neg camber can you say corner boys and girls.
