HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
I know this part came off my '67 1600,....but I can't figure out what it is, or where on the car it came from. I'm thinking maybe in, or around the turn signal housing....I don't know ....any ideas from you guys ?
Thank you VERY much in advance...Mike

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
It's a pencil. They used to be very common before cell phones and digital media. I still have one in the glove box of my '69.

.....and also what is referred to as a RULER.
It has markings on it which are from ancient times and they are called IMPERIAL.
It may be a clamp for the steering column

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
Having completely disassembled my 66 and 67 I have not seen any part like that. It looks like it has been cut off. Could it possibly have been used as a substitute for the stock exhaust clamps at the front and back of the X? Something to hold the pipe up?
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
I agree that one is a pencil, the other indeed a ruler (nice work men! )... the other... it looks familiar, and I'm thinking it is used to hold down the cowl drain tube in the engine compartment/trans tunnel. Looks pretty clean though, so maybe under the dash?

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
Thanks to everyone's ideas to help identify these parts. I showed the pics to my wife, and she definitely recognized the ruler from her desk drawer, and suspected the pencil that I used to show the scale, came from there too. BUSTED... LOL !
It's a part that came from a divided bin, that I only use for Roadster parts as I remove them from the car so I don't lose them. It was in a bin compartment with my old rubber steering shaft bushings that I replaced last summer. It doesn't show up very well in the pics, but it has the same "yellow zinc" plating on it like many other components behind the dash. I strongly suspect it's from somewhere near that area. I did have to remove the steering wheel and turn signal switch and cover to replace the upper shaft bushing, so I'm going to remove the turn signal switch & cover, again, and see if it might be from there. It does look like it could function as any of the suggestions that have been given, but I can assure you, it is not for a radiator, cowl hose or exhaust pipe clamp. When I figure this out I will be sure to share what I find. Many thanks, anyway !

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
It looks like the bottom of the bracket for the turn signal switch, but broken.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
Well,....mystery solved...in the middle of the night, when I woke up for a "bio-break"...it suddenly occurred to me, that the mystery part might be this:
I humbly apologize for the wasteful depletion of our Forum's collective imagination....
Mike
A hold down clamp for the capacitor in my old pool filter pump....I had saved the capacitor and the clamp when I disposed of the old motor, and for some reason, the clamp ended up in my precious Roadster parts stash bin...I humbly apologize for the wasteful depletion of our Forum's collective imagination....

Re: HELP PLEASE...What is this part ?
This looks like fun. So what is this part from the roadsters? This should be fairly easy.
