Looks janky coil question.
I am going to order some bilstien dampers from JT and figure I would ask if I should replace this coil that's on it now. It works engine starts right up and runs ok. This is my first roadster so this coil is all I have ever known. Looking to get the integrated resistor coil on JT's website. I have never seen this coil setup before.

I’m not familiar with that coil either. Do you have a standard point ignition or something else?

Typical mid-80s Nissan coil found on most of their products of that era. Super reliable.

My $0.02 - If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
If it starts up fine, keeps running and there is no misfire directly attributed to it, it’s working

That's good news! Really looking for reliability for this roadster. Thanks for the quick info!

More designed for ecu controller ign .
Some of the 80s one lasted like 40 k careful around the wires they can be high amps, were setup really for Platinum / irridium plugs
Problem with irridium plugs on carbed eng if it get s flooded , they foul easy your not going to get it going before pulling the plugs

For Iridium, I like the "Denso (4709) IW20TT Iridium TT Spark Plug". I felt they were a tad better than the "NGK (6427) BPR6EY V-Power Spark Plug".
My 2 cents. Might as well match the plugs to the coil
