Picture Resizer

I found a picture resizer extension and just installed it on the forum. I removed the picture limitation as far as size allowed. We shall see how it goes. I know this was a bone of contention with a few folks. Feedback welcome.

Seems to work?
This really is a huge upgrade! Thanks Steve.

EDIT: The tag still says it's 1.98MB.....did it actually resize?

I think the tag tells you what it was. I will double check to make sure it is working as it should.

I just tried this pic-

IMG_4317.JPG

On my end it is a 3.1mb file with shows as 2.9mb in the attachment window and then 64kb when resized. Great addition that makes it easier to post photos.

For important stuff I will still link to an external site, this at 1600 x 1200-

Is there a resize link to resize? All my pictures seem to be too large and I get a message to large and resize. Not much experience in the photo world. Thanks, Bob

On some posts, but not all, when I click on a picture I get this in the "pop up" window...
Screen Shot 2022-03-05 at 2.12.14 PM.png
The "X" to exit the pop-up is also displayed, along with the < and > indicators to advance through the pics in the post.

What's up here?

Which web browser are you using? Anyone else having problems?

All the pics in this post and any other display that way for me. Safari 15.3

Happens on this page: viewtopic.php?t=19067&start=195
on the "Off Topic Part 1" and Off Topic Part 2" images.

I'm on Safari 15.3 as well, like RBMann. Even the second pic by RBMann above behaves the same way.

Steve:
Pretty sure this only happens when someone tries to link/embed a pic from an external site that allows on the fly resizing (denoted by the little “+” sign in the UPPER LEFT of all the affected pictures) - That’s why it appears sporadic amongst users and threads. Probably was done to try and maintain the best resolution for posting but it cannot be recognized by the embedded 311 image resizer extension (shows up as “undefined” file type).

That makes sense to me. Not much I can do about that one. Thanks.
