Low windshield frame reassembly

Post by Pjackb »

Any tips and tricks ?
I got new rubber from Ross but it’s already a thight fit in the frame channel without glass so I concerned of sliding them in with the glass
It look like it will require much more pressure than I’m comfortable with
Thanks

Did you lubricate it with soapy water? I just installed a low windshield gasket from Dean last week & had trouble keeping the rubber in place, it kept trying to push out of the frame.

I’m now waiting for the 3M adhesive to set up on the windshield to body rubber so I can install the whole assembly this weekend.

Peace,

A good trick for some temporary lubricity is to spray the rubber and even the glass edges with Windex. The Windex makes it slick, but it evaporates in a short time after you get the glass in place.
