Tranny fluid refill

Post by kt »

I get about a drop under the car everyday.
It seems to be coming from the tranny, right
where the big drain bolt is located. Some of the
peripheral bolts also show some minor leakage.

How do I go about refilling the tranny fluids?
Where is the refill bolt(?) located?

Never done this before.
Thanks,

KT, there is a four sided plug about halfway up on the side of the tranny. I cannot remember which side it is on from memory. I believe it is on the drivers side. It is best to purchase a small pump to pump the fluid in through the plug hole. With the car sitting as level as you can get it (jack stands front and rear) you pump enough fluid in until it runs out of the plug hole and then replace the plug. Some people are running Redline synthetics but I use good old 90W in my trannny and rear end. If your seals are shot the synthetic stuff leaks past the poor seals.

Job done. Thanks again.
The screw was on the driver's side as you said.
And Yes, you really do need a pump to complete
this task. :!:

It took about 1/2 liter before over flowing.
Max capacity is 2.2L. Not bad, I thought the
situation was much worse.
Future task, get a new gaskets...
