It's a 67 1/2. No rolling back , want to take the speedometer out to see if i can fix it. Took out the speedometer cable and lights but the odometer cable is still attached. Removed the small slotted screw but can not get it to pull out. Is there a trick? Thanks

Probably just corrosion. The cable is a tight fit to the driven shaft that spins the odometer. Try some penetrant oil and give it some time to seep in.

Its the same as rolling it back, official paper work to do it Since the late 70s
You cant R&R a speedo head or even a dealer tech only a certified specialized tech can . dealer tech can if replacing it and has factory set to correct miles . Our dealer gaught caught.... odo roll backs 10 yr fed.

it's eaasy to trash the odo. tyically people try to adjust when moving which trashes the 'not so tough' gearing interface.

Believe the OP is talking about the speedometer "trip meter" (999.9) function, not the odometer (99999) function, since the trip meter shaft and cable are the only external parts other than the speedometer cable input shaft, which he says were already removed. That eliminates the 'rollback' discussion, unless the odometer is driven by hand, mechanically, past 99999 and over to NNNNN.
