It happened on 11/25/21 this year. The DOT starting putting deicer chemicals on the road. Really envy you south and west types. Good news, Roadster washed,
covered and safely tucked away in its winter garage home. Drove it daily driver 800 miles between Aug 24th and yesterday. Have had car for 8 years and had only driven it barely 30 miles up to this year. Everytime I would get it to the point that I would be driving it something would come up. Body shop was 12 months (phenomenal job Jeff). Blown head gasket lost an entire summer and winter. Anyway, this will be the summer I'll always remember, first real bonding driving experiences. What a great little car. Now I can pull the seats and redo with the kit from Dean at datsunpartsdotcom.

Congrats Toby! We now have at least 3 running roadsters in our area! Winter is upon us for sure. Already can’t wait for the hibernation to end.

No salt yet near Philadelphia, but that's the moment mine will go into hibernation too.

The beet juice / salt brine thing ? If its applied correctly , drying in minutes its a good thing ,I think , but some trucks leave it in puddles some call it rocker panel remover then

I'm glad to read that you were finally able to enjoy the car! I hate hibernating it, and we watch for proper polar bear run days... must be no rain, have some good sunshine, freakin cold but with the seat warmers and plenty of blankets we will soon have frozen smiles on our faces. At other times it's the excitement of spring and the anticipation of summer mountain pass drives that brings more smiles, even if the car is sleeping... soon, soon...

Man, this is inspiring. I'm absolutely twitching - literally losing sleep - daydreaming of the day I can finally drive my car. I can't waaaaaittt to feel the satisfaction you had this summer. Happy for you.

This year salt on road was December 2nd. With the new top I drove it right up to Dec 1st. Longest ever. Now all those little winter projects. Hopefully get the seats back from the upholsterer during the winter.

You’re pretty funny if you think your upholstery guy is getting those done this year. Is this year 3 or year 4 now? Lol
