Stuck! Doing minor renew on '69 2000 SU carbs. No Banjos screens were found in carbs. Found a set on line,
but they are too tight to fit over the inlet bolt threads. Looks like they'll fit over the drilled section.
Are 1600 and 2000 banjos different sizes? If these new ones are the wrong size I'll mail them to you free.
Are they necessary on a 2000? Any help appreciated. Jim

Same P/N for that filter for both 1600 and 2000 SU's.

Where did you get the non-fitting screens?

I have gotten screens from Nissan and some are tight and some not. Same part number so a QC problem I assume.

I believe the U20 SOLEX filters are a different size. Perhaps they just sent you the wrong ones for your SU?

Thanks for the feed back but sorry for the delay in getting back. Had to go out of town for 2+ weeks and didn't have good cell service.
A friend stopped by with more experience with SUs. One banjo fit on easily. He spoke very nicely to the other one and then added some coercion with long nose pliers. Problem solved. Fits like a glove. Hope to have it running this weekend.
