Stainless Steel Bumpers

Post by Halfyear67 »

Just received my new SS bumpers from Vietnam. They look great. Can't wait to finish my restoration and see them on the car.

Peter,

Which vendor did you use? There appear to be 2 or 3. Did that include overriders?

Thanks!

From my dealings with Bumpercar Co. in Vietnam, the seller at the link below, it appears they are the only manufacturer of the bumpers.
Other ebay sellers are "suppliers" that get the bumpers from Bumpercar Co. for resale.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/275028156270

The bumper guards/over riders are extra and very reasonably priced.
It is not clear from their current listing but the bumpers can be ordered to your specifications. Stock. Or no over rider holes,
no front license plate holes, no rear license plate light hole, indent or flat rear bumper center.

Thanks, Ted - I appreciate the information! Are their bumpers the same gauge as the originals?

Peter and others who have the bumpers in hand can report on the quality and gauge comparison.

The bumpers are only sold as front and back pairs.

I got mine a year ago from group Harrington in Vietnam. Everyone thinks that they are chrome, and I could perceive no difference in weight, and they fit well.

Thanks for posting this info. Seems like the overwhelming response to these bumpers has been positive. It's great to get feedback like this when considering an expensive purchase from a distant foreign country.

Another reason I love this forum.

http://bumperautomobile.com/ They also now have the late style convex side molding in SS. Some Roadster Facebook guys have some on the way.

Edit: Last I checked the molding wasn't listed on the site, but they have it, contact person is Amy Nyugen.

That is exciting news. Its amazing that they are making so many new stainless parts for these cars. I love that when you scroll down through the marques on their site, it's Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Datsun.

Any info on how much the late style convex side molding in SS would cost? I realize I could try to contact Amy but just asking here in case the leg work has been done already ;)

My memory is a bit foggy, but I'm sure the price popped up once over on the Facebook page a while back. IIRC it was $280-300ish. I don't recall if that included shipping. I'm pretty sure it includes the mounting posts as well. If the quality holds that it is a great deal.
