Just read an article on my newsfeed that says two states, Maine and Rhode Island have inacted laws that say JDM vehicles can no longer be legally driven on public roads. Article originally appeared on gearjunkie.com for those who might want to look it up. This is not a good sign of things to come.

In Kalifornia we're counting the days until they outlaw internal combustion powered vehicles. Reminds me of Red Barrchetta by Rush.

“...fired up the willing engine, responding with a roar...”
Oh sorry got caught up in the RUSH reference.... as any good Canadian would. RIP Neil Peart..one of the best drummers ever.
I digress

Let’s hope we make it to 2112

With the current government plan to ban all new gas & diesel cars by 2035 and then rapidly phase out (by stricter legislation) all older cars all together, we will be lucky to make it to 2050. After that, any car culture will only be available for viewing at your local ‘history of cars’ museum - Probably will be a lot of them.

P.S. Agree with the ‘Rush’ thing!

I'm pretty positive that I will be the last owner of SRL31100588 who will be able to drive it as we do now. I relish every drive.

Regarding Rush, I had my heart attack in 2018 while playing YYZ (from Moving Pictures) on my drums. I just couldn't get my left hand to do what I asked... :smt119

Quad bypass and 3 stents later I can play it again

Neil was a master and just so much fun to listen to. As teans we all would spent hours listening to ALBUMS, then tried to emulate what we heard on our own instruments in my parents basement. Always had a blast doing what ever we could with what we had. Fun times.

From what I can see, it is outlawing low speed vehicles such as the small trucks and such.
Prudence Island Low Speed Vehicles

Still seems like a lame law.

Those cab over style vehicles were killers, Nissan's, Toyotas version outlawed in the 1980s your feet and legs were 10" from the front of the car
The front safety bumper mandated starting in the late 80s kept getting more stringent ,softer

In the 70s a grocrry store in my town would load your stuff as you set in the car in a line , a teen boy ,just hired was loading this trunk the car fast idling, he shuts her trunk she backs up smashing his legs into the car bumper behind her then she pulled up , the boy dropped to his knees in pain , then her car backed up again and early cut him in half , he lived for a few years
The safety bumpers reduce this greatly

Eventually, we will all have to move to Texas if we want to keep driving internal combustion vehicles. Of course gasoline will be so expensive that it'll be for the wealthy only. Red Barchetta, indeed. Then again, in 2050 I'll be 83, so they will probably have already taken my license away.

As much as I love Rush, (I have all their albums on vinyl) they did pronounce "barchetta" incorrectly. It means "little boat" in Italian and sounds like barKetta. Always drove me crazy, even though the song is a masterpiece. Bruschetta is another one that gets mispronounced all the time. But, I digress...

The head guy of oceanic current forecasts says get ready
For an artic blitz because the Atlantic current is disrupted , weakened because of climate change & astronomical events ,stating that freezein texas last winter was nothing , to this .the ocean current have already been ajusted slightly from the co2 cooking the atmosphere if they change drasticly they fo not return to the routes which would be to hot for fish in the gulf of mexico , Europe would be like Canada Cold most of the year

If I make it to 2050, I probably shouldn't be driving anything. I'll let my new, 2050 self diving car do the work.

Lol … Agreed - But think of how mind-numbingly boring that would be.
