Muffler Part Numbers

Post by Fetch »

I have been reading through the posts and there a many muffler manufacturers talked about. One thing I am not seeing are the part numbers.
Does anyone have a list of part numbers or a link to the part numbers for the various mufflers?
Thanks,
Dan

I can offer the following exhaust parts info, that I bought from my local Datsun dealer, for my 1967 1600, back in 1982, that I read from my receipts:

FRONT MUFFLER (' 65 - ' 67 early - 10/27/82 - $24.32 - 20101-25500
OVER AXLE PIPE (' 67 - ' 70 late) - 10/27/82 - $14.20 - 20101-25525
REAR MUFFLER (BOOSTER) (' 67 -' 70 late) - 10/27/82 - $37.48 - 20300-25500

I hope this might be useful to you...

Probably only if he owns a time machine, especially on pricing😀
Then again who knows, I’m always surprised by what is still in stock! Good info though.

I use carpartmanual.com to find part numbers...it's not always complete or accurate but it is a pretty good place to start. I can confirm the part numbers above from Mike in the following break out https://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/s ... 967-5-1970

Availability and Pricing....now that is a completely different topic. JT68 has some beautiful aftermarket stainless steel exhaust systems...check it out https://www.datsunrestorationproducts.c ... ess-system

Thanks all for the info.
I have been looking and found some info in the most obvious place, the '65 service manual.
Thanks Mike for the numbers. Found a OEM 1.5" "booster" at Sports Imports for $475. Just need to find out if one is available.

Joe, yes JT has some very fine products and Consuelo would look good sporting a SS pipe. I would need to discuss with my CFO.

I am going back to the muffler shop this afternoon to talk with the owner. His last name is actually Dotson. Nice guy. He was going to do some research also.
Fall is in the air, I would like to drive the car a few times without my ears going numb from the noise.
Thanks again.
