69 SPL311 restomod Bay Area, CA

Post by Arvin R »

Hi everyone!

I finally got around to joining the forum. I've been posting my car/progress on fb. A few weeks back I picked up a 69 1600 out in Modesto, CA. In fairly good shape with no real rust issues but it's been sitting mostly outdoors uncovered since 2003. Body has had some "unconventional" modifications done to it and it will be a good candidate for my engine swap later down the road. I have a spare f20c (Honda s2000) powertrain that I will be swapping in. My goal is to get it running with the R16 before April 2022 in hopes the Solvang meet will be happening and I can make her first appearance there.

Welcome, that looks like a good solid starting point!

Welcome!
Great idea getting it running before diving into the F20C. There are a few F20C roadsters on the internet, with Ted's (built by "Hondaman") being the most visible:

Interesting how they molded the fenders into the front valance. Never seen that before. It is a smooth look, I just hope you don't ever have to pull a fender off...

I'm in the East Bay, Concord, and have parts, tools, advice, and beer.

Arvin & Alvin! Oh yeah, you guys definitely need to hang out. That's like a 90s band name.
