Hoping someone has had a similar issue and can share what fix was.

Driver side Parking lamp is twice as bright as the Passenger side. It is close to headlight brightness, while the Passenger side looks more normal.


I did observe 2 of the 3 nuts that hold the back of the lamp assembly in the fender are not there. Also heavy presence of undercoating inside fender and at light mating surface. Removed material.

Turn signal functionality is present.

How do the turn signals look? I suspect that the connectons on the bright light are reversed, connecting the parking light (low brightness) to to the turn signal circuit & the turn signal light (high brightness) to the parking light wire.

Is it possible one bulb is an LED or Switchback and the other is incandescent?
My LED Switchbacks are super bright, which I like.

Check ohms numbers on the grounds
And voltage too

Will confirm the wiring orientation against the “normal” looking side.

Yes, troubleshooting the lift off issue. Large wing for greater downforce going on once I get rid of all these electro gremlins.

1000 ohms is usually the standard for a length of wire
But touch the leads together that's no resistance
With the batt complete disconnect do the pos side too
A lot of the time the copper wire crimp in brass connector is weak
And the fuse box Conn.

If the turn signals are dimmer than the parking lights then try switching the wires. IIRC they use bullet connectors that you can reach in the wheel well. Easy Peasey!

Thanks. Will try switching the wires. Yes, I was checking the bullet connectors earlier to make sure well seated. 3 wires in that harness - black, green and green with blue stripe. Will try switching green’s on the bright side.

Measured Resistance with meter and got 5.3 ohms on normal looking light and 7.1 ohms on the bright running lamp. Switched bulbs side to side and same result. Measurement was taken touching Negative probe to the frame and Positive to the right bulb contact inside the socket for both sides.

Bulbs are 1034, 8 watt dual element and appear new.

With bigger fish on the list “easy peasy” was a well needed result.

The green/green-blue strip wires were crossed on the side with bright lamps. Switched and now both are the same “normal” appearance.

In retrospect should have tried Turn signal function after confirming bulbs were the same. The dimmer flashing relative to the other side lamp working as designed may have prompted to check connections.
