Lots of cool cars from new supercars to hotrods to 1920's.

We’re discussing a tentative June 5 return.

If others wish to join us, we pre-meet, then drive together and stage together prior to the show open. This allows for our group to all park together for the show.

This Roadster gathering is happening on this Saturday 6.5 in San Clemente!! Those that have RSVP'd thank you.

We have a half dozen confirmed attendees and, if more wish to participate please message me for meet up and caravan details. No fees to attend and no pressure involved, just a chill gathering.

Doug

Nice turn out.
It was great meeting Edgar (San Diegan) and Todd (LA). Both sweet cars and good stories.
Every time we go to this car show, someone tells me they have a roadster in their garage, can I come buy and take a look at it. This time they went to Doug and Doug sent him to me. No one has followed through yet but I believe this guy we met today, "Monty", was really itching to get his running again after sitting in his garage 20 years. Maybe we can get another one on the road.

Oh - Nice pictures Holden !

I have 20 years on Monty!, Not that I'm proud about it LOL. BTW Greg, that Mirror I picked up from you was dead on center hole to center hole to my Fender. THANKS!

Glad it was a perfect fit Dennis ! I don't have many of those mirrors left.

On another side topic. Maybe when you get the key cut from a locksmith, just ask if he could cut the length of a longer key, shorter for the other key I have. Of course you could do it yourself but I assume a locksmith would the proper tools to do it cleanly. Just a thought. Also, go to a real locksmith not the local hardware store. The real deal locksmiths cut much better. I am somewhat of a weirdo as I don't even let a young locksmith cut mine. I only have mine cut when the old guys are cutting keys. They treat the old car keys with a little more respect :) Helps if you drive up in the 311 as well and they see it. Just my 2 cents.

So funny you mentioned this. I researched Roadster keys last night. More specifically the longer and shorter keys that I have and now the new longer key blank that I have. It would appear the longer key is a six pin (valet key) the shorter key is a master 5 pin which will work with all locks on my Roadster (1967 at least) The longer six pin won't work for the trunk or console, but will open doors and start the car. And yes from information I found a lock smith should be able to grid off the extra 1/8 of an inch of a longer six pin to make it a five pin thus making a Valet key into a master key.

I used:
ADVANCED Lock & Key- Automotive Locksmith, 650 S Grand Ave #105, Santa Ana, CA 92705, http://www.advancedlock-key.com/
If you get the owner (old guy as Greg said), he is really good and likes the challenge. He rekeyed my center console ($25) and included two blanks. I tried two other old school places and they were a no go, before I found him.
Good luck.
