I placed an order with Dean in the wee hours of May 1, 2021.
I have not heard about my order and have left a message with Dean.
What kind of customer service is that? I ordered from Dean in the past and always was satisfied.
The only information I have is my credit card charge went through from Chase Cards.
I know Dean trolls this site. Will I get my battery tray? How about the heat shield for the 68 2000?
thanks

Dean has explained to me that the way his website works that once he moves the order into the next step in the process that it limits his ability to make any adjustments to it as he would need to do if there were something on it that is out of stock or if he sees the need to contact the person placing the order. He indicated that it is an impediment that he doesn't like but getting alterations made to a website can be difficult. The tone of your question begs the question: Are you a troll?

I ordered from Dean in April and had no issues. With all the monthly orders coming in within a day or so, I'm sure it takes a few days to sort through and get out the door.

I am not a troll. I've had Datsun roadsters since the 80's. I have ordered from most of the vendors on this site.
Having had my own business for 30 years I know what customer service is about. Getting back to your clients
is the first lesson in good customer relations. Yes, I'm semi-retired now as is Dean. I still try to treat my customers
the way I would want to be treated. I provide all pertinent information (delays, out of stock) at all times no
matter how many hours it takes.

Dean has also stated in the past not to expect your order to ship for 10-16 days. In my experiences, your card isn't charged until he is working on your order. I would be surprised if you received your order this fast. Letting all of us know how unhappy you are isn't going to help. Let us know how teaching Dean "customer relations" goes. LOL Pat

Exactly what do you want from Dean? Your complaint sounds like he should stop processing orders to personally call you to discuss the finer points of the free heat shield that you are wanting. Are you suggesting that perhaps he reduce the number of orders to maybe 200 so that he can spend time on the phone with you? He is a major supplier of a niche market. To give frame of reference, there were over 200,000 MG Midgets made. Over 500,000 MGBs made. Yes, there are more companies making and selling parts for those because there are so many more cars out there. Consider this though, can you call and talk to the owner of Moss Motors regarding your order? I doubt it. Give Dean a break, he's working his ass off getting it done. If you have suggestions on how he run his business - contact him directly. Consider that he has posted here that he is actively looking to hire staff, but has not received applications. Perhaps you can help him out.

It's May 10 - 9 days after ordering - Hello!!!!!

If you don't get it after maybe 21 days - then post! - maybe!

I posted an order early this month and have no problem waiting on getting what i want. Dean has very clearly stated his procedure and if it’s not acceptable go someplace else. We’re lucky there’s a vendor like this that continues to serve our group.

"there were over 200,000 MG Midgets made"
They're called "dwarves" now-or "little cars". You need to check your wokecabulary.

Had an issue with my mailing address ... Dean called me within 2 days of me placing my order to make sure he had my correct address . Hmmmmm that sounds an awful lot like great customer service to me . Thanks Dean for ensuring I get my goodies in a fair and timely manner.
Lots of great vendors for us Datsun junkies. JT has been awesome, and Ross at Sports Imports always there to help. Oh and Dave Premo...need I say more. Chill everyone, and drive really really fast .

I've never had an issue with ordering from DatsunParts. Dean has actually gone above and beyond more than once when I needed a part in pinch. I did go up there once to pick up a windshield and I have to say, he was on the phone the entire entire time helping people with their orders and what will or not work with their cars. He wasn't a slacker.
Just to set expectations, all vendors are better some days more than other days buy they are ALL really helpful. I highly doubt you will find a 311 parts dealer moving as many parts as Dean. He is a one man two man company depending on resources.
The 311 biz is not big enough to be "Amazon Prime" :)

Don't forget Paul Wells. He is really good.

Well said Greg!

Most of have us have a close personal relationship with at least a couple of our vendors and if we are honest, we should all be very grateful for their continuing support. Most vendors have reached typical retirement age yet continue to provide as much support as their individual circumstances allow. Be grateful they are not all closing shop at once! :D

 I also was up in the wee hours on May1, placing an order to Dean. Dean called me two business days after the order was sent to discuss shipping options to help me save money. My order is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow the 11th. I would call that world class service! We all need to think about where we would be trying to keep your cars on the road without the dedication of all the great vendors we have access to.
