The Nissan Z Proto

Post by Alvin »

Nissan Corporate invited us to visit their headquarters in Nashville, TN. Today I got to spend some 1 on 1 time with the Z Proto. It was amazing.
I'll have a full report soon. Tomorrow they are going to take us to see a few of their heritage collection vehicles. Some kind of "secret" site
Enjoy!

Here is my report from our visit to Nissan.
https://www.zcarblog.com/2021/05/28/aut ... proto.html

The Heritage collection was superb, everywhere we looked there was an awesome story to be told through metal.
My favorite, this RL411:

This old Fairlady wasn't too shabby either :)

Our hosts recently found a bunch of roadsters in a barn. All high windshield 2000s! This red '69 was in the best condition, needing very little to be road worthy.

At the "secret" location was the stash of remaining roadsters from the barn find. These were in rougher shape. This 2000 was an autocross car at some point in its life:

In an effort to remove the dealer emblem I inquired if they had a trunk key...sure enough it was on the key chain! Boom! treasure found in the trunk:

Another red '69 SRL:

So glad that they rescued the cars! Not shown is the 1500 they are also getting back on the road.
Enjoy the pictures!

Sounds like another article is coming! The car looks really really good. When a car appeals to me I find myself looking it over again and again, and this one has me doing that. I have never stopped looking at the Datsun in the same way, even after this many years.

By now you have all seen the 2023 Nissan Z though every media outlet, ad nauseam.

Nissan invited us to a private unveiling of the new Z in Brooklyn, NY on 8/17. It was live-streamed for all to see.

Enjoy this short report from the event with video and photos from the reveal and a midnight photoshoot (photos not released yet) with both Z's in Times Square!
