A recent photo request prompted me to make this thread. Not sure if the Tech section is the right forum. Not sure if this already exists, so please move/advise.
Here is a collection of R16/1600 valve or rocker cover photos. A few 1500s as well. Please feel free to add owner's names, finish details and your own pictures!
Here we go. I give you, the R16 VALVE COVER LINEUP! TWIIIIIIIIIIXXXXXX!!!!
I love the R valve cover. I notice there's a lot more room for air filters and velocity stacks vs the U20, or maybe there's differencs in manifold length.
Well, I know very little about the r16, but I do know Datsun isn’t spelled N I S S A N

It's interesting that the U20 says Nissan...anyone know why? Maybe just the company growing and expanding globally?
It may have more to do with branding. Nissan's "higher" status/prestige cars, e.g. Skyline, Cedric, Silvia are Nissans, as in Nissan Skyline, whilst the "lower" branded /mass market cars are Datsun, as Datusn Bluebird. Maybe the U20 was destined elsewhere before going in the SR, as the U20 doesn't have much lineage behind its engIne "DNA", or after.
You roadster guys are still driving a Nissan.
1965 Nissan Silvia (CSP311) for total restoration
1978 260Z finally on the road (Rebello 3.2L)
Who needs plates to eat off of when you have an engine bay as clean as RBMann’s. Phenomenal!

I remember when, at age 16, I polished up the cam cover on my 620PU L-16 and showed my friends. They all laughed at me, but a week later all of theirs were polished up too!
I've always been a "function over form" person, but it sure is nice when the two come together like on these beautiful examples.
