Falken AZENIS Sport (RT-215)

Post by Skyman »

I am looking at picking up a set of these tires. Does anyone have any experience with these? This will not go on a daily driver, and the car most likely will not see much rain. At $47 each they seem pretty reasonable.

Thanks,
Kyle

P.S. I am also looking for some 14X6 wheels if anyone wants to part with a nice set

I had the rt 215 and the rt615. They both made the car feel like it had power steering. THe car turned with much less effort than the radials they replaced. I had no problem on wet pavement. I highly recommend them. The 215's ran about $50.00. the 615's were $90.00.

Thanks for the advice. I have ordered a set from Vulcan Tires. Should be in next week. Too bad I won't have the car up and running for a few months. They should look great in the living room. Look Honey, new furniture! :P

The 615s seem to hold up really well. I have a set that I put on just before shasta, and they still look great. They seem to withstand lots of negitive camber without wearing. I just rotated my tires at the begining of the month, and they show almost no wear. They stick really well and seem to have lots of heat cycles. Rain isn't an issue either.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

I was surprised by the 215's wet performance. My first real drive on them was last year on a run called by Gary Cohen. It was a cold, cold wet day in the So Cal mountains and I was skittish about pushing, not knowing if these "Summer Tires" would hold at all. I found that they were very predicable and if they did lose traction, it wasn't a complete loss. My hardest push was our Mt Wilson run last summer. I had nothing but confidence in them and dove as deep as I had the nuts to into the Crest's formidable corners.

Looking forward to getting a set of 615's on the SSR Formula Stars I bought this year. Then I can swap them back and forth to really get a grip on the difference between the models.
