I've picked my color! Is it silver or is it blue?
I've been struggling literally for years thinking of what my color was going to be for my build (which is still happening though nothing posted recently) of my '69 SR20 swap. My car was originally silver, as was my first '70 Datsun that I grew up in. There are many family votes of what the car color ought to be as my wife has preferences, and kids who one day may get this car have preferences, so I was looking to get to at least an A- answer for all of us. My choice would have been to have something like the Infiniti Black Obsidian, but instead of having the purple pearl in it, I wanted to get a navy blue pearl. But that was my wife's least favorite color. While she didn't think a Datsun should be feminine, that was too masculine for a fairlady, from her POV. She really liked the modern dark burgandies (like Bigtakus) and I did too, But I didn't like tan interior which I likely would have chosen. And I didn't say it, but the interior color has to be very light as I refuse to roast sitting down in the car after it being outside. My next favorite would be to go with one of the modern pearl whites, and then go with some sort of lighter red interior. I think that would look classy, even though all the modern cars are doing it, and the white exterior/red interior, though decidedly different in application, would be more period correct. My wife was ok w/that, but just ok--she's not a fan of the red interior. So I had been looking for a silver that I could add some blue pearl to the clear to try and get a silver that would really pop. If this could work, I would go with the modern stone color or something like that interior wise (life Infiniti's stone). Then about 5 months ago I saw a 2017ish Camaro go by that was a very light blue, almost a silver. That had me intrigued, so I researched the color (Arctic Blue) and found a local dealer who had a couple of Chevy Cruze's in that color to look at. Didn't do a lot for me in the cruze, but checking out the color on the cool Camaro said it's still a possibility.

So I had to have some painted on a panel to see if I liked it. Since I have been working to prepare a 2nd trunk lid for the luggage rack for trips, I had a friend in the body business paint it. These pictures won't do it justice, but I love it. Not A+, but I'm up to the A category of satisfaction, and the wife likes it too. As you look at it in the bright sunlight, it is much more silver, in cloudy conditions its more blue, but the amazing color comes in the sunny day like we had today, but you look at it from an angle that is not direct to the sun and its a gorgeous very light blue w/lots of sparkle. So, for your viewing pleasure

Re: I've picked my color! Is it silver or is it blue?
I'll be updating my build thread in a few weeks, but I've been working all fall creating custom seats using 04-06 GTO rear seat cushions. I'm 99% done (have to install seat heaters to cushion set up) and I'll take this color to the guy doing my interior who I just love, and he's going to create the seats and we'll pick the interior colors that will go well with this color.

Looks good, one of those sneaky colors that seemingly change a bit based on the angle and amount of light hitting the paint. My old Mazda 6 was like that. It was Gunmetal Grey, but at times it looked almost Olive Green.

Good choice , I looked at that color when I was first researching for MrGreen as I wanted to go with a silver Blue ( That's how I found the Mako Blue )
I see you say A not A+ so if still on the fence check out VW/Porsche Sapphire Metallic, LY5V Its very similar but with a little less blue

They also have glacier metallic LY5U but that one is more blue than yours

Thanks...think we're here w/Arctic Blue. My only regret is I already bought my rotas, and if you look at the camaro thread I linked to, you'll see arctic blue goes really well w/black wheels. Some hyperblack rotas would have looked awesome. But my rear view mirrors are chrome, everything else is so I think I'll be just fine.
