Reoccurring theme: Side Trim Molding needed

Post by DAC21 »

I'm sure this topic has come up before for our Vendors, but I'm newish to the forum. Is setting up reproduction side molding trim beyond ridiculous in terms of cost? The demand is certainly there I would think? Could there be a one-size-fits-all in terms of the type of concave and the type of threaded attachment that could work for early and late roadsters? Sure it wouldn't be original, but for non Show owners it would be better than spending many++ hundreds tracking down and refurbing OEM.

There's a great tutorial on installing plastic, stick-on chrome trim. Looks great, almost hard to tell!

I made a few simple tools for straightening my trim (convex from the later cars though). They seem to be doing a decent job, and I'm getting close to finishing. When I'm done, would anyone be interested a tool loaner program?

Todd, yes good idea, sign me up for your loaner program. Let me know when you are done. I'll ship your set up here and send it back. Thanks Dave

I am glad that my Cowles trim interchange is still getting cited and used. If you don't have a dinged up trim set to repair the Cowles is cheap and looks great!
