Trying to identify a seal

Post by Habitat.pat »

Found this in a bag of firewall grommets. Anyone recognize it?

Hummm, shouldn't there be a second lip on that seal for inside/outside of the firewall? Kinda looks like the oil seal boot of the OEM Fuel Pump, but looks a bit big for that.

I don’t see how it could be a firewall grommet, just that is what I found it with. It was in a bag of parts I bought at least 16 years ago. It may not even be a roadster part. It does look familiar though.

Pat

Looks like maybe a seal for a cylinder such as a master brake cylinder or a slave cylinder. Probably has a snap ring that holds it in place. Just a wild guess though :D

Great! Thanks. I knew I’d seen it somewhere but couldn’t remember where.
