Fuel system vent?

I'm working on getting my 67.5 back together after a frame off. I found that the PO had been rear ended, requiring the replacement of the fuel tank with a '70 tank intended to be used with a charcoal canister. Since the 70 car had its vent in the canister system, that would be the vent for the system.
But since I have a 67.5, the vent wouldn't be there. Where is the vent located in earlier years? I assume it is in the fuel cap but I don't see any passages. Is it just free airflow around the key slot cover shaft?

My key slot cover is missing so I am looking at either finding a different cap, buying a replacement key slot cover & having the cap re-plated or ???. Since the charcoal hose barb is open, I can either close off that barb or add a vent filter to it.

Peace,
Pat

Gas cap should have a notch in the gasket which allows venting for all caps prior to the 70, AFAIK.

My orig. Cork gasket on my 1967 cap has no notch. Sure does need to be replaced though.
